Broadband Pakistan: High bandwidth users to pay more

Customers consuming more than 50 gigabytes (GB) of data in a month will have to pay an additional charge of Rs1,000

Customers consuming more than 50 gigabytes (GB) of data in a month will have to pay an additional charge of Rs1,000 on selected PTCL broadband packages.



The extra charges are applicable on 4Mbps, 6Mbps and 8Mbps packages, said a press release issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) here on Tuesday.

The PTCL broadband rates are: Rs1,199 for 1Mbps, Rs1,499 for 2 Mbps, Rs1,999 for 4Mbps, Rs4,999 for 6Mbps, Rs6,999 for 8Mbps, Rs9,999 for 10Mbps, Rs15,000 for 20Mbps and Rs20,000 for 50Mbps. If a customer goes over 50gb of data on the aforementioned they will have to pay the following charges: Rs2,999 for 4Mbps, Rs5,999 for 6Mbps and Rs7,999 for 8Mbps.

PTCL executive Vice President Aasif Inam said in the statement that PTCL is striving to address the need of its customers “who have made Broadband Pakistan the number one service provider in the country by making it their most preferred choice”.
