India wrestling squad’s arrival delayed

Team likely to arrive today for 2nd Indo-Pak dangal.

LAHORE:
The arrival of India’s wrestling squad, which was due to take part in the second Indo-Pak dangal, was delayed by a day after paperwork issues meant they had to return to their country.

The event’s organising secretary Khawar Shah said the issue, created on the Indian side of the border, has delayed their arrival in Pakistan. “There was some paperwork issue on their end,” Shah told The Express Tribune. “An official of India has told me that they’ll be reaching tomorrow. Depending on the time of their arrival, we will schedule the dangal either tomorrow or day after.”

The three-man squad from India comprises wrestler Jagroop Singh, Shah Muhammad and Sattinder Singh. The first round of the event will be played in Faisalabad, which is due to be held today, followed by Gujranwala staging the second on November 18 before Lahore hosts the final round three days later.

“If they arrive early enough then we’ll proceed with the original dates,” added Shah.
