Home safe: Police rescue kidnapped businessmen and their sons

The police are still hunting for the ring leaders.

KARACHI:
Law enforcers have recovered four kidnapped people, including two teenagers, and arrested six suspects involved in their abduction.

At a press conference held by the Anti Violent Crime Cell at its Garden Police headquarters on Monday, the chief SP, Ghulam Subhani, said that the kidnappers were arrested and the victims were rescued during separate raids in Shah Latif, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Saeedabad.


The rescued people were fourteen-year-old Sadiq, 18-year-old Mohammad Ayaz, 25-year-old Mohammad Sultan and 50-year-old Jaffer Lasi. The older abductees were businessmen and the teenagers were their sons. They were kidnapped from different parts of the city on different dates. About four million rupees were demanded as ransom from their families. The raids were conducted while negotiations between the kidnappers and the families were still in progress.

The suspects arrested were Abdul Razzak, Mohammad Arshad, Sarfaraz alias Bohra, Rajab Ali alias Nadeem, Abdul Kareem and Sain Dad. The law enforcers have also recovered two Kalashnikovs, a 7mm rifle, a repeater and TT pistols from them. The officials of the AVCC said that the arrested people belong to three different groups which have been involved in several kidnapping cases. An FIR has been registered against the arrested suspects and the police are investigating the matter further. Raids are currently being conducted by the police to arrest the ring leaders of the gangs.
