Corruption: 3 WASA officials removed

Three officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) were removed from service on charges of corruption and fraud

FAISALABAD: Three officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) were removed from service on charges of corruption and fraud. A contractor, meanwhile, was blacklisted. According to officials, Wasa senior accountant Muhammad Ejaz, assistant accountant Tariq Ejaz and sub engineer Muhammad Nadeem were found guilty of converting a figure of Rs99,000 into Rs.999,000 and for bribing contractor Nazeer Shehzad with regards to a sewer project laid down in Chak Dhandra. Wasa managing director Zahid Aziz ordered the removal of all three WASA officers and has blacklisted them.
