Initially, 7,500 cars will be manufactured per annum.

KARACHI:
Iman Investments Limited Chief Executive Officer Raschid A Jaffery has announced plans to manufacture 7,500 air cars per annum in Pakistan and the production level will be enhanced up to 750,000 units gradually.

In air car, the motor is powered by compressed air or combined (as in a hybrid electric vehicle) with gasoline, diesel, ethanol or an electric plant.

Giving a presentation on the project at the Chief Minister’s House on Monday, Jaffery said that 80% parts of the air car can be manufactured in the country while only 20% material will have to be imported.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that a committee will be formed to review feasibility of the project and stressed the need for introducing alternative energy projects to meet increasing energy demand of the country.

Shah said that the government will encourage and support alternative energy projects.

He said the government is tapping various alternative energy resources to reduce the expenditure on imports.
