Snooker: PBSA aiming to host international event
Snooker tournament planned for March, maximum countries to be invited.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) is planning on staging a Six-Red Ball International Snooker Tournament in March next year. The PBSA Secretary Munawar Sheikh said the association was close to finalising the tournament’s initial plan.
“We’re seeking maximum participation in the tournament,” the secretary told The Express Tribune. “We’ll extend the invitation and hopefully there’ll be a positive response.”
Sheikh added that the tournament is likely to feature at least eight countries, with India, China, Thailand and other Asian countries expected to participate.
Ranking event starts today
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top 16 cueists will be in action at the Del Monte Fourth Ranking Snooker Cup, starting today. The performance of Imran Shahzad and Asif Toba, the two cueists chosen to represent Pakistan at the World Snooker Championship in India from November 27, will be the centre of attraction for fans.
