ZTBL humble Abbottabad in Quaid Trophy

NBP’s Aqeel hits double century to trouble Karachi Blues.

ZTBL won by an innings and 206 runs as Abbottabad suffered a humiliating defeat on the third day of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The hosts, who saw ZTBL post 498 for nine declared before being dismissed for a modest 197, were sent packing for a humiliating total of 95 in their second-innings with Rehan Riaz finishing with four for 23. Mohammad Khalil claimed three for 17 to finish with five wickets in the match as ZTBL recorded another win in the tournament.

Aqeel stars for NBP

Aqeel Anjum hit a superb double ton and remained unbeaten on 203 as NBP declared at a mammoth 520 for three, a first-innings lead of 222, before reducing Karachi Blues to 90 for one.

While Anjum faced 364 balls for his innings, NBP’s total also contained two other centuries, one by opener Nasir Jamshed and another unbeaten 100 by Fawad Alam. Karachi, trailing by 132, will look to avoid an innings-defeat when they resume their batting today.

Yaseen leads Sialkot reply

It was a day of centuries as Sialkot batsman Mohammad Yaseen hit 110 to lead his team’s reply against PIA as the match headed for a draw. His innings helped Sialkot reach 299 for four after PIA declared at 505 for four.


SBP sense win against  Rawalpindi

Chasing a competitive 333-run target, Rawalpindi were reduced to 37 for two as SBP sensed a final day win. The departmental side made 238 in the first-innings before Rawalpindi responded with a paltry 121. Babar Naeem’s five-for helped Rawalpindi dismiss SBP for 215 in the second-innings before Mohammad Ali took two wickets to tilt the balance in his side’s favour.

Islamabad pinned by Wapda

Wapda were on top against Islamabad after reducing the hosts to 132 for five, still needing another 24 runs to make the departmental side bat again in the second-innings.

Umair Khan was not out on 74 but will have a lot more to do as the final day starts today.

In another match, HBL reached 33 without loss as they pursued a 326-run target to beat Faisalabad.
