Too busy to care: Riaz takes Sharifs to task

Raja Riaz Ahmed condemned police torture on a 15 year old Lahore citizen.

LAHORE:

Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly (PA) Raja Riaz Ahmed condemned police torture on a 15 year old Lahore citizen and vowed that matter would be taken up in the assembly.

Riaz, in his press release, said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s claim to good governance had been exposed by the torture faced by many at the hands of the police. He said that the Sharifs remained busy holding public rallies against the federal government while people are miserable due to Police brutality and the rule of dacoits in Punjab.

Riaz expressed sympathy with the aggrieved family and PPP deputy parliamentary leader in PA Shaukat Mehmood Basra along with some PPP office bearers visited the victim’s house and assured them of full support of the opposition in getting justice.

Riaz said that he would submit a call attention notice in the PA and seek a reply from Sharif.

He said that if the Sharifs did not take up the issue, then PPP would picket the residences of the Sharif family.
