Kabaddi Championship postponed
Pakistan has been forced to postpone the Asian Kabaddi Championship scheduled to take place in September.
LAHORE:
Pakistan has been forced to postpone the Asian Kabaddi Championship scheduled to take place in September, owing to the upcoming Commonwealth Games and Asian Games that are taking place in India and China in the following months.
“Since the Commonwealth Games are scheduled in October, most of the volunteers in Asia will be busy in that event followed by the Asian Games,” Pakistan Kabaddi Federation secretary Muhammad Sarwar told The Express Tribune.
“Although all the countries were eager to play in Pakistan but with the busy calendar this year we decided to postpone the event till January,” added Sarwar, ruling out a floating reason that countries showed reservations due to security concerns in Pakistan.
“Twelve out of 17 nations responded positively to our invitation,” said Sawar. He added that the countries advised to push the event so that they could confirm their participation.
