Security measures discussed

Meanwhile, Lahore High Court Registrar Sohail Nasir held three different meetings with the city police officer, district administration and the District Bar Association to discuss the security arrangements after the gruesome incident.

Following the meetings, the head of Rawalpindi police removed all policemen deputed in judicial lockups where under-trial prisoners are kept.

All the entry points of the court have been closed down except for three, which will be guarded by armed policemen carrying metal detectors and walk-through gates.

Nasir constituted a committee comprising revenue officials, judicial officials and representatives of the District Bar.

The committee will review security measures for the district courts every month and report on the issue to the district and sessions judge.
