
The Lahore veteran cricket league will commence playing matches today (Sunday) at the Cricket centre in the Model Town ground.
Fourteen teams drawn in three groups will feature in the league.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials said that various committees have been formed for the event.
The tournament organising committee includes chief patron Ashiq Qureshi, Shahid Anwar, Shakeel Malik and Manzoor Ali Arif.
A Pakistan Cricket Board official said, on Saturday, said that the league offers attractive cash prizes with the winning team receiving Rs 50,000 and runners up getting Rs 25,000.
Participating teams include Sayid Paper Bucks, Lahore Whites, Siddique Motors, Lahore Shaheen, Lahore Muhammadans, Lahore Greens, Textile Tigers, Ch Sport, Golden Eagles, Gulberg Gymkhana, Hajvery Sports, Sayid paper Stags, Lahore Tigers and Amar Cables.
