Football: ‘Germans will be better against Holland’

KIEV:
Germany coach Joachim Loew has insisted his side will be better for Tuesday’s friendly against the Netherlands after his team laboured to a 3-3 draw in a friendly with the Ukraine. An experimental Germany team survived a scare as the visitors had to come from 3-1 down to salvage a draw. “I reserve the right to experiment at this stage of our preparations,” said Loew. “Of course we will have to be better against a team like the Dutch, but there were a lot of good things to take from this game.” In other friendlies, France secured a lacklustre 1-0 win over the US, Italy defeated Poland 2-0 and the Netherlands drew 0-0 with Switzerland.
