Khan’s only purpose is to dent PML-N: Sanaullah

Sanaullah says Imran Khan tool of the establishment, aimed at destroying PML-N vote bank in the country.

LAHORE:
Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) chairman was termed a pawn of the military establishment by Rana Sanaullah on Saturday.

The provincial minister made the statement at the Sharif residence in H-Block, Model Town, where he had gone to meet MPAs, MNAs, ticket holders and party workers from Faisalabad division. The meeting, which was presided over by Nawaz Sharif, had been convened to discuss Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz’s (PML-N) rally in Faisalabad on November 20 successful.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Sanaullah said that Khan was being used to dent PML-N’s vote bank. “We are neither against Imran Khan nor are we worried by any rallies,” he said. Sanaullah said that Masood Sharif Khattak’s joining Khan’s party “makes it very obvious what kind of game the establishment is playing.”

The law minister also said that the reason the establishment and President Asif Ali Zardari turn a blind eye to whatever the other’s doing is because they have a deal. Sanaullah said that the establishment had allowed Zardari “to loot the country without any fear” and that in exchange, Zardari had chosen to ignore what the establishment was doing, both domestically and internationally.

The PML-N minister said that his party had been the only one to fight the establishment since 1992. “It’s only the PML-N who asked the establishment to clear its stance on the May 2 incident in Abbottabad and attack on the naval base in Karachi,” he said. He added that Nawaz Sharif was the only person who had asked the military, during the All Parties conference in Islamabad, to reveal the secret deal, if any, it had made with the US regarding cooperation in the War on Terror.

During the meeting, Sharif also asked Sanaullah and Abid Sher Ali to make up, said a party member who requested anonymity.

On Friday, the opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, Raja Riaz Ahmad, while speaking at a cheque distribution ceremony in Faisalabad had alleged that government machinery was being used to make arrangements for the rally next week.

Riaz had said that officials of the Revenue Department, patwaris, Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), the city district government, the town municipal administrations (TMAs), police personnel and other government officers had been asked to ensure that the rally was well attended.

“The Faisalabad rally will be a flop and will only be remembered as a “show of patwaris”, said the PPP leader. He said he was sure that the people of Faisalabad would boycott the “so-called rally”.
