Like a prayer: Marvi Memon calls everyone to Bhitshah for a dua

It will be an open space for discussing issues affecting the province and country, says Memon.

HYDERABAD:
Just like Marvi in Shah Bhitai’s Shah Jo Risalo, a woman who fights against tyranny, I am also fighting for a change, said former Pakistan Muslim League-Qauid (PML-Q) MNA Marvi Memon while talking about the round table conference she had organised in Islamabad.

“I want everyone - young people, old people - to join me at the Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s mazaar on November 13 for a dua.” She added that the dua would not develop into a public meeting but would be an open space where different issues affecting the province and country would be discussed. According to the former MNA events such as the dua and conferences were being organised because they had the potential to trigger a movement. She added that such events would help the people vent and talk about the problems they faced.

“A potpourri of political parties are reconciling, sharing power and making money,” she said. “The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is not like that.” She added that she was the Sindhi nationalists leaders would most probably participate in the dua and conference.

While answering a question about the possibility of early general elections, she said that the visible bankruptcy of the government suggested an endgame. “We have to mobilise the people, the decision of when and where the elections will be held rests with the government,” she said.
