Military operations: Pak-China training begins on Nov 16

Joint exercise will encompass techniques and procedures involved in low intensity conflict operations.

RAWALPINDI:
Pakistan-China joint military exercises, aimed at sharing and enhancing expertise of both armies in countering terrorism, will begin on November 16 in Pakistan.

The joint military exercise ‘YOUVI-IV’ will be held over two weeks and is aimed at the mutual exchange of experience and information through a comprehensive training programme in real time. The joint exercise will encompass techniques and procedures involved in low intensity conflict operations (LIC).


The exercise which has been named ‘YOUYI’ which mean “Friendship” in Chinese was launched in 2004. Pakistan Army was the first foreign army to conduct any exercise on Chinese soil. Three exercises have been conducted to date, including two in China and one in Pakistan.
