Revenge: Man shot over ‘murder’

Victim had allegedly killed Arsalan’s father nearly 20 years ago but was acquitted by the Lahore High Court.

FAISALABAD:
A young man was shot by his rivals in the limits of Sahianwala police station on Friday. According to police officials, Chak 148-RB resident Javed Chattha was feeding his cattle when his rival Arsalan and his accomplices allegedly opened fire on him. Chattha received serious bullet injuries and died on the spot. Local residents told police officials that Chattha had allegedly killed Arsalan’s father Zaheer nearly 20 years ago but was acquitted by the Lahore High Court (LHC). Locals told police officials that Arsalan had sworn vengeance on Javed and had publicly declared his intentions to kill him. Police officials took the body into custody and have sent it for an autopsy. A case has been registered against Arslan and his three accomplices under Sections 302, 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code but no arrest has been reported so far.
