Controlling Dengue: Citizens refuse to cooperate with authorities
Team members not allowed to enter houses to check water tanks and other sites where the dengue mosquito could breed.
FAISALABAD:
A door-to-door dengue awareness campaign initiated in Faisalabad has flopped because local citizens refused to cooperate with the authorities.
According to EDO (Health) Dr Abdur Rauf, several teams of the health department were paying regular visits to every house in their respective areas to provide information about the dengue epidemic but the people were refusing to let many of them into their homes. The EDO said that team members were not allow to enter houses to check water tanks and other sites where the dengue mosquito could breed.
