Body recovered from the canal is of alleged robber

Muhammad Tariq had been injured in an encounter with the Police on November 5.

A body recovered from the canal turned out to be of an alleged robber who died of bullet injuries six days after fleeing from an encounter with the police within the remits of Ichra Police precincts.


Police officials said that six days ago, on November 5, police had pulled over two men riding a motorbike near Ghaziabad area. Upon being stopped the men fire at the police.

Officials said that during the cross fire Muhammad Tariq, one of the two robbers, got injured, though he managed to flee the scene while his accomplice, Moon Nawaz was arrested. They said that body of Tariq was found from Canal in Ichra Police precincts on Thursday.
