Raising awareness : World Pneumonia day tomorrow
This year’s theme, “I am the face of pneumonia”, strives to illustrate pneumonia’s direct impact.
ISLAMABAD:
World Pneumonia Day will be observed on November 12 across the world, including Pakistan, to raise awareness of pneumonia as a public health issue and help prevent the millions of avoidable deaths that occur due to pneumonia each year.
This year’s theme, “I am the face of pneumonia”, strives to connect personal, human stories that illustrate pneumonia’s direct impact. Pneumonia is a preventable and treatable disease that affects 155 million children under the age of 5 and kills 1.6 million each year.
