Women’s team eyes World Cup qualifiers
Pakistan cricketers end training camp in high spirits.
LAHORE:
The Pakistan women’s team has set its sights on the World Cup as they finished training ahead of the qualifying round that will begin on November 14 in Bangladesh.
Pakistan captain Sana Mir said the team was working hard on all aspects of the game and was hoping for a good show at the qualifying round. “Our performance has improved,” Mir told reporters at the conclusion of the training camp yesterday. “We played a match against the boys as well and we’ll hopefully have a good run in Bangladesh.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Women coach Mohtashim Rashid added that the qualifying round was as competitive as it gets. “The girls have worked really hard and I hope they do well,” said Rashid. “They will play against some very good teams and matches will be tough. But the team will be well
prepared for it.”
