Armed assailant succumbs to injuries after nine days
Saleem Zaidi had led a party of armed assailants to attack Malik Ahsan and was injured by return fire.

A man who had been injured after being caught by a bullet during a shooting incident nine days ago within Sabzazar police precincts, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
SHO Muhammad Raza said that Saleem Zaidi along with his five accomplices had attacked Malik Ahsan who was having breakfast with his friends two Malik Shahbaz and Hafiz Irfan on Multan Road near Benz Factory on 1 November.
Police said that both groups exchanged gun fire, in which two men Shahbaz and Irfan, were killed on the spot. Zaidi along with five other bystanders were injured in the incident. Zaidi had fled the scene was admitted into a private hospital. However, early on Wednesday, Zaidi succumbed to his injuries.
SHO Raza told The Express Tribune that Malik Ahsan had an old enmity with Saleem Zaidi and his group. He said that Malik Ahsan had also allegedly murdered relative of Saleem Zaidi over which he was booked under section 302 of the PPC.
The officer said that six people riding on three bikes had attacked the trio at around 11 am. The assassination party was identified as Saleem Zaidi, Talha Butt, Majid, Imran and two unidentified men. He said that Talha and Majid were caught by members of the gathered public while others managed to escape. An FIR has been lodged against Saleem Zaidi and his accomplices on the complaint of Malik Ahsan.
