Barrister Zafarullah Khan requested that the CCI be directed to create a consensus on the project.
LAHORE:
A petition was filed in the Supreme Court requesting a hearing of a petition, about the construction of Kalabagh Dam, pending for 11 years. Hashim Khan, the Watan Party Punjab president, filed the application through his counsel, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, in the Lahore registry of the apex court. The counsel submitted that the country was going through an energy crisis and so the petition should be fixed for an early hearing to save the country’s agriculture and economy. He requested that the Council of Common Interests (CCI) be directed to create a consensus on the project.
