Show featuring innovative media opened at the Drawing Room Art Gallery.
LAHORE:
A group show featuring innovative media opened at the Drawing Room Art Gallery on Friday.
The show includes works by Shahzad Hassan Ghazi, Hira Rafi, Fahad Hameed, Pratima Thakali, Shazad Ali and Salman Hassan, among others.
Ali’s PVC rubber models of Minar-i-Pakistan immersed in water represented “the distortion of the values on the basis of which the monument was erected,” he said. “The dead pigeons symbolise the lack of freedom and peace in our country.”
Anees’s rendition of “21st century fossils” reflects “the state of human existence today,” said the artist. “Technological advancements are developing a greater future, but for who?” he said. “In this race mankind is left behind.”Rafi’s work, in acrylic on canvas, explores the flow of water.
