Judo: Hussain is Pakistan’s sole rep
Hussain will be representing Pakistan without teammate Syed after the latter was forced to pull out of the tournament
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s Shah Hussain will be representing Pakistan at the Junior World Championship 2011 in Cape Town without teammate Syed Samiullah after the latter was forced to pull out of the tournament. The development stems from the Pakistan Sports Board’s (PSB) failure to issue the NOC to Samiullah in time. According to Pakistan Judo Federation Secretary Masood Ahmed, the PSB issued the NOC – required to obtain a visa – for Samiullah and manager Tariq Hussain on November 2, which was too late keeping in mind that the tournament was due to start a day later. Hussain begins his campaign today against Russian Alikhan Dzarmotov.
