LAHORE: FAD – Fashion And Design was launched in Lahore on Friday. It is a multi-label high-end fashion store located behind MM Alam Road.

“What sets FAD apart is that our team acquires the merchandise from the actual source in Milan,” said Regional Manager Tariq Rana, “We have made sure that we bring in the latest collections. At the moment we are only stocking Autumn and Winter 2011.”

Rao Khayyam Shabbir, owner of FAD, worked with Louis Vuitton in London for over a decade and decided to open up his own store in Pakistan. “I have contacts in the international market. I have access to goods others might not,” said Shabbir, “For luxury goods, Lahore is a much bigger market than even Karachi so we are excited to launch here.”

Focusing primarily on menswear, FAD has collections by Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce and Gabbana, Canali, Bontoni and Black by Armani besides many others. As far as women’s accessories are concerned, handbags and shoes from Jimmy Choo, Celine and Chloe line the store.

“FAD is a great new addition to the line of international brands in Lahore,” said Imtisal Zafar of Verve Events who had organised the event. Natasha Hussain hosted the red carpet.

“Fashion is constantly changing,” said Shabbir, “We plan on bringing the latest collections and as fashion trends change, so will the merchandise in the store.”
