Shabbir wins CNS Golf Championship title
KARACHI:
Spurred by a seven-point lead in the earlier stages, Shabbir Iqbal overcame an ordinary show in the final round to reclaim the CNS Open Golf Championship by five strokes at the Karachi Golf Club.
Shabbir seemed uncomfortable on the last day and returned with a card of 76 after an unimpressive fourth and final professional round. However, his aggregate of 285 was good enough to land him the title which he last won in 2008.
The Islamabad golfer survived a brilliant show by Matloob Ahmed on the decisive day, who scored a par of 72 but fell short by five strokes as he returned with a total of 290 points.
Muhammad Tariq and Waheed Balooch secured joint-third place.
