Riaz rants against Punjab government
Warns Sharifs and Imran to speak with respect about president.
LAHORE:
Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly (PA) Raja Riaz demanded on Thursday that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) take suo moto notice of the corruption in the Punjab government.
Riaz told a press conference at his PA chamber that if the CJP is reluctant to take notice then PPP would itself move a court against the provincial government. He said the death toll due to dengue was on the rise but the provincial government was busy plotting against the federal government.
He read from a charge sheet against the Punjab government which included corruption, dacoity, kidnapping for ransom and ‘bureaucratic rule’ in the province. He said the Daanish School scheme had failed and 65,000 public schools in the province would be closed soon. So far, he said, 12,000 schools have been closed. He said that the PTI’s rally had forced PML-N into silence. He said the Punjab government had failed to deliver beyond Lahore. He warned the Sharifs and Imran Khan to use parliamentary language while speaking about President Asif Ali Zardari.
He alleged that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had granted tenders for government work to his friends and relatives. He said the Punjab government had started a campaign to malign him with false allegations.
