Signboard Stolen: Journalists in Sukkur threatened
The journalists said that SSP Saqib Ismail Memon did nothing to help them.
SUKKUR:
Dozens of journalists protested outside the office of the DIG of the Sukkur police, Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh, on Wednesday after the Sukkur National Press Club’s signboard was stolen. The journalists said that SSP Saqib Ismail Memon did nothing to help them. This press club was set up three months ago by journalists who wanted to separate themselves from the old press club, which they say is controlled by influential people.
The journalists who went their own way claim that people have been threatening them ever since they separated. The DIG tried to pacify them and said he would look into the matter.
