FAISALABAD: Around 350 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations of Faisalabad will remain closed for two days beginning Thursday morning as gas supply will be suspended to them to cope with shortage. In a statement on Wednesday, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) said it had chalked out a load management plan to overcome gas shortfall, according to which supply to CNG stations of Faisalabad would be suspended at 6am on Thursday and restored at 6am on Saturday. An SNGPL spokesman warned the CNG station operators that action would be taken against those who did not comply with the load management schedule. However, the CNG Station Owners Association strongly protested against the two-day gas supply suspension every week and said it was a conspiracy hatched to destroy the business in which billions of rupees had been invested. It asked the government to exempt CNG filling stations from gas outages.
