Quetta blast takes out power transformer, misses people
Unknown persons planted a bomb near the Sadr Police Station, but no one got hurt in the blast.

A power transformer was damaged when two and a half kilograms of explosive material went off near the Sadar Police Station in Quetta on Thursday.
According to Sadar police, unknown persons planted explosive material on the power pylon near the police station and food point in Jninah Town. Upon explosion, the power transformer was damaged. The blast created panic in the area. “Around two kg of explosive materials were used in the blast. No one was hurt,” Police official Malik Arshad told reporters.
A heavy contingent of police and rescue workers rushed to the site soon after the explosion. Police recovered splinter and pieces of metal from the scene. “The road is often crowded with vehicles and passers-bys, fortunately no one was there when explosion occurred,” another police official said.
A case has been registered against unknown person under explosive and anti terrorism act, police said.
