Disgraced Cricketers: Local court moved for case against trio
Judge issued notice to the SHO for his comments on a petition seeking cases against the banned cricketers
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday issued notice to the Faisal Town station house officer (SHO) for November 4 for his comments on a petition seeking cases against cricketers Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Amir for alleged match fixing. Petitioner Muhammad Faisal Khan told Judge Anjum Raza Syed that he had asked the SHO to register the case but he refused. He said that the Pakistan Penal Code included a provision for the registration of a case against a Pakistani citizen who committed a crime abroad. He said the three cricketers had tarnished Pakistan’s image and disappointed the nation’s cricket fans.
