Lawyers across the country will observe black day on Thursday (today) to condemn the imposition of emergency and promulgation of Provisional Constitutional Order on November 3, 2007 by General (retired) Pervez Musharraf.
City bars will also hold general house meetings in this regard. Supreme Court Bar Association, Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association have given the strike call and appealed that lawyers not attend court proceedings today. Yasin Azad, the new Supreme Court Bar Association president also called upon all bars to raise black flags and to observe a one-day strike.
