Petition: 3 Clifton parks saved
Karachi (CDGK) was trying to lease out a park, a playground and another amenity plot to an individual or group.

At least three Clifton parks were saved from big business by the Sindh High Court that heard a petition filed by the residents of Clifton Block 6.
Ahmed Faheem and dozens of residents went to court saying that the City District Government, Karachi (CDGK) was trying to lease out a park, a playground and another amenity plot to an individual or group.
During the hearing, the counsel for the CDGK, Manzoor Ahmed, told the bench that the playground was being given to a hockey association which would be opening an academy.
The bench ordered that ownership would remain with the CDGK but the two other parks should be developed for their original purpose. The bench directed the CDGK to construct a wall around the parks within six months and report back to the court.
