A raging fire deprived a man of his house and valuables worth Rs2 million in Tanda Village on Sunday evening.
According to Khalid Khan, the owner of the house, the fire took place due to a leaking LPG cylinder. He said his wife was about to cook something in the kitchen when the cylinder exploded as she tried to light the burner.
The fire, he said, engulfed the entire house, injuring Khan and burning down all his belongings. His wife managed to escape unhurt.
He said local rescue workers tried to extinguish the fire but could not do so, adding that his house had been reduced to ashes by the
time the fire brigade reached the spot.
