Paying rich tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto, speakers at a condolence reference said she was one of the greatest women the country ever produced and the nation has lost an iconic figure who was a symbol of struggle against tyranny and injustices.

According to a press release issued by Sustainable Development Programme Institute, Media Adviser to the President Farahnaz Ispahani said Nusrat Bhutto will always be remebered for her struggle for democracy.

“When we talk about reconciliation, we should remember that Nusrat Bhutto pioneered it by bringing together the country’s political forces on the platform of Movement for the Restoration of Democracy, ” she said.

PPP Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira said Begum Bhutto lost her life due to an injury she received during a protest for peoples’ rights at Gaddafi Stadium during Ziaul Haq’s regime but she firmly stood against General Ayub Khan for the rights of people.
