Contempt of Court: ‘We know how to get our orders implemented’
Petitioner submitted that the secretary was not issuing his promotion orders despite High Court directions.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Monday summoned the Irrigation Secretary on a contempt of court petition filed by a sub-engineer.
Petitioner Mehmood Khurshid submitted that the secretary was not issuing his promotion orders despite High Court directions. He said he had filed a writ petition against the authorities for not giving him due promotion. The petitioner said the secretary by not complying with the court order committed contempt of court, and was liable to be tried under the law. Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed expressed his displeasure and remarked that the court knew how to get its orders implemented. He directed the Irrigation Secretary to appear in court.
