The Sialkot Press Club has started a life insurance scheme for its members.
According to press club members, the new insurance scheme will ensure that journalists and their families are covered by insurance.
The Press Club has received a Rs2 million grant from the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Press Club chairperson Humayun Iqbal Malik and senior vice chairman Abid Hussain Mehdi told reporters that the step was being taken for the security of the local journalists.
