Performance: Police arrest 12 proclaimed offenders

Also 13 illegal weapon holders and recovered heavy quantity of illicit weapons and ammunition from their possession

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad police have arrested 12 proclaimed offenders and 13 illegal weapon holders and recovered heavy quantity of illicit weapons and ammunition from their possession on Thursday. According to police officials, a crackdown was initiated on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rae Tahir against the criminals involved in heinous crimes including robberies and abduction for ransom. During the one-day operation, the police arrested 12 proclaimed offenders in addition to nabbing 13 other accused on charges of holding illicit weapons. The police also recovered six pistols, two revolvers, a rifle, a gun (12-bore), a dagger and 200 cartridges and bullets from their possessions. The CPO said that the police arrested seven drug traffickers and recovered 80 litres of liquor, two kilograms of chars and 750 grams of heroin from their possession. Police officials have registered a case and are investigating further in search of the accomplices of the accused.
