HSSC part-I: Rawalpindi board to recheck papers within 45 days
All resources mobilised for ‘better’ results: officials.
RAWALPINDI:
It will be another 45 days before students of HSSC Part I know their final results. The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) has established different centres to recheck the answer sheets for the higher secondary school certificate exams (HSSC Part I), board officials said on Thursday.
They said the board has “mobilised all resources” to correct and fix any shortcomings in the results announced on October 17. The process may also delay the announcement of HSSC supplementary examinations’ results.
Nadeem Arshad Kiani, member of chief minister’s inspection team, visited the board offices on Thursday and had a meeting with RBISE Chairperson Dr Muhammad Qasim.
In a press statement issued later, Dr Qasim said they were carrying out the rechecking on the directions of the Punjab higher education department and the board staff will remain busy round-the-clock to complete the process within the given time.
In the process that started on October 25, the board will examine the roll numbers of the students along with their already obtained marks.
“Every answer-sheet will be examined closely to make sure that no question remains unmarked,” he said. “The total number of marks after rechecking will be compared with the already previously announced lists to remove all discrepancies,” said Dr Qasim in the press note.
As far as objective papers are concerned the rechecking will be carried out by the examiners, and not computers, to avoid mistakes, he added.
The RBISE chairperson said heads of all public and private schools and colleges had been taken into confidence about the process of rechecking and they would be allowed to observe the process if they wanted to.
