PIA inflicted a heavy defeat on Karachi Blues, winning by an innings and 49 runs in their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match inside three days at the National Stadium.

Ali Imran Pasha finished with seven wickets in the match as Karachi, resuming on 136 for eight, were bowled out for 147 in the first-innings before being dismissed for 254 on the same day in reply to PIA’s 450.

This was their second defeat in the tournament and PIA’s first win.

Wapda, chasing 240, were 38 for two after Sialkot racked up 396 courtesy Mohammad Ayub’s double-century in their second-innings after being bundled out for just 139.

ZTBL were in a slight bother after losing two wickets for 37 as they chase 255 to win against Rawalpindi who were bowled out for 162.

Abbottabad were left blaming a mediocre batting performance in their second-innings after an eight-wicket loss to the promoted SBP. The hosts, who made 285 in the first-innings, were bowled out for a pathetic 106 in the second after Saad Altaf’s six for 36. In reply, SBP, who managed 346 in their first-innings, made 48 for two.

Kaneria spins HBL to victory over Islamabad

Danish Kaneria took seven for 102, spinning HBL to a comfortable innings-and-27-run win over Islamabad, who were bundled out for 266.

The hosts, facing a first-innings deficit of 293 after being dismissed for 108, were led by Umair Khan’s 96 but the performance was not enough to make HBL bat again.

In another match, Faisalabad reached 284 for six after NBP declared their first-innings at 539 for four.
