Army edge out PAF in football league

Muslim FC, Afghan FC match postponed.

KARACHI:
Army edged out PAF 1-0 to take maximum point from their Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match at the Municipal Stadium in Rawalpindi yesterday.

Meanwhile, the other match of the day, between Muslim FC and Afghan FC at Sadiq Shaheed Stadium in Quetta, was postponed due to non-availability of the ground.

Army and PAF started slowly, relying on their defence rather than adopting an aggressive approach. The dull start, however, gave way to a barrage of attacks from both the sides with neither managing to break the deadlock in the first-half.

The match remained goal-less until a superb move in the 64th minute when Ansar Abbasi’s flick handed Army the points. Meanwhile, three matches will be played today with Muslim FC and Afghan FC opening the day’s proceedings. KRL will take on Navy while Pel face Baloch FC.
