Teachers from all over Punjab protested outside MAO college in Lahore on Thursday to demand a 50 percent raise in their salaries, reported Express 24/7.
The lecturers have also boycotted classes in around 500 government colleges of the province. Many students have also joined the lecturers in their protest.
The lecturers also demand that the government give them one-step promotion and regularise the contracts of the teachers without any condition.
The Punjab Government had announced a 50 percent increase in the salaries of government college lecturers in June but it has failed to provide the increment.
