Rs250 million embezzlement discovered in NA employees housing scheme
Money missing from accounts of National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society, supposed to be frozen.

Almost Rs250 million have disappeared from the accounts of National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society.
The scam was exposed during the session of Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior in Islamabad.
Committee Chairman Senator Talha Mehmood asked the Islamabad commissioner on why the accounts of the housing society were not frozen despite the requisition.
The commissioner answered that he was unaware of any such request and said that the CDA did not issue a no-objection-certificate to the society.
The standing committee referred the case back to the special committee for further investigation.
The Senate body also formed a sub-committee to track down illegal housing societies within Islamabad.
