Health Alert: Anti-polio drive postponed

During the campaign, children would be given Vitamin A supplements in addition to anti-polio drops

PESHAWAR:

Owing to the death of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, the anti-polio campaign in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), which was scheduled to begin on Monday, has been postponed.

The campaign will now commence today (Tuesday), according to sources in the health department. During the campaign, children would be given Vitamin A supplements in addition to anti-polio drops, they said.

They expressed concern over the rising number of polio cases in the province, adding that 11 cases had been reported from K-P so far, while 37 cases were reported from Fata. They called upon the religious leaders to play their role in eliminating the disease from the country.
