Board result fiasco: IT consultant fired on CM Punjab's orders

Dr Naeem fired from duties in wake of errors in the interm­ediate result­s.

LAHORE:
The Information Technology (IT) consultant for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has been fired from his duties in the aftermath of the large number of errors in the intermediate results, Express 24/7 reported Monday.

The decision has been taken on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The government had appointed Dr Majid Naeem last year for the installation of online system in all eight boards of Punjab.


According to sources, the Lahore Board administration has banned Dr Naeem from entering the office.

Dr Umar Saif has been appointed as the new IT consultant.

Earlier, the students alleged the new online system as the culprit behind discrepancies in their results.

While the provincial education minister admitted to flaws in the online system, he vowed to continue with it.
