ISLAMABAD:
Hundreds of students from the Quaid-e-Azam University on Saturday night surrounded the Secretariat police station following the release of a driver who had hit a fatally injured colleague in the morning. The protesting students said they would not end their protest until police arrest the errant driver. Zaheer Lakho, a student of MSc, was hit by a car while he was walking along the road on the footpath. “We caught the driver and handed him over to police but they let him go,” said Asad, one of the protesting students. Ahmed, who had suffered a severe head injury, was first taken to Pims from where he was transferred to the Shifa International Hospital where doctors declared him mentally dead.
