LAHORE:
There is very little risk of dengue virus being transmitted from an infected mother to her newly-born baby, said Prof. Rakhshanda Rehman, Fatima Jinnah Medical College principal during the daily media briefing about dengue. She added that surgery of dengue-affected pregnant women should be avoided. It should be performed in emergency cases and not without arranging for platelets and blood, Prof. Rehman said.
