A man was shot dead in Khalabat Township here on Friday. The motive behind the murder was reported to be another man’s death during firing in the air at a marriage ceremony last year.
Police quoted Zakir Khan of Nara village as saying that his younger brother Amir Khan, 21, was on his way back home, when Haji Sher Muhammad of the same village and his two accomplices stopped him and shot him with a 12-bore gun, killing him on the spot.
The complainant said Haji Sher Muhammad’s son was killed last year by a stray bullet at a marriage ceremony. Zakir said Muhammad believed Amir was responsible for the mishap.
