Energy Resources: Stay order on LPG policy extended
LHC extended the stay order on the LPG Policy 2011 till November 22
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday extended the stay order on the LPG Policy 2011 till November 22 while issuing an order that all identical petitions be fixed before one bench. Different LPG companies through their advocates have challenged the policy.
They contended that the new policy had made it mandatory for LPG companies to purchase 20 per cent of their supplies from LPG importers and brokers. They said 87 LPG companies had made an investment of $1 billion but the government with malafide intention had granted marketing licences to public sector LPG companies. They said the change in policy was causing acute problems for the LPG companies.
