The Dengue virus continues its deadly hunt as eight more people have fallen prey to the epidemic, raising the death toll to 260 in Punjab, of which 242 belong to Lahore.
The total number of people affected with the virus has now crossed 17, 500, with 185 new cases reported in Punjab, out of which 125 are from Lahore.
Some 1,300 patients are under treatment at various hospitals across the province.
'Action against hotels, restaurants not taking preventive measures'
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says action will be taken against hotels and restaurants that are not taking preventive measures against dengue.
The chief minister ordered the secretary of food department to visit hotels and restaurants, to check their preventive measures against dengue.
